Wood Machinist
Venables Oak is one of Shropshire’s leading timber merchants and bespoke joinery manufacturers. We are currently seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join our skilled and dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting up and operating a range of woodworking machinery, including spindle moulders, four-sided planers, and bandsaws.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Carrying out routine machine maintenance and ensuring the workshop remains clean and well organised.
- Working independently and as part of a busy, collaborative team
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures at all times
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
Transport: Own transport essential due to rural location

Role 2:
Joiner
Venables Oak is one of Shropshire’s leading timber merchants and bespoke joinery manufacturers. We are looking for someone with Joinery Skills to join our busy and skilled team
Key Responsibilities
- Working in a workshop environment manufacturing and finishing high-quality bespoke joinery.
- Fitting ironmongery, glazing and framing.
- Maintaining a strong attention to detail, working to deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Operating woodworking machinery such as spindle moulders and four-sided planers — experience is desirable, though not essential.
- Undertaking occasional site work as required.
- Working independently and using your own initiative, while also contributing effectively as part of a thriving team.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
